Common Questions

Is College different from school?

Yes. You call tutors by their first name, you don’t wear a uniform, and you manage your own time.

For an apprenticeship, do I need to find my own employer?

Yes, it certainly helps. An important part of an apprenticeship is that self-reliance, and seeing just what the real job market is like. Our Apprenticeship team, however, is here to help – we have a Talent Pool and a vacancy matching service to help you succeed.

As an adult, how can I afford to come back to College?

Many of our courses are free, depending on your income or prior qualifications. We can help you check your eligibility – just get in touch!

What happens if I don’t get the GCSE grades I predicted?

Don’t panic. We offer courses at every level – if you miss out on grades for a Level 3 course, for example, we can usually start you on a Level 2 to help build you skills up. Plus, we build GCSE maths and English resits directly into your timetable if you didn’t achieve a Grade 4.
