Modern Slavery Statement and Policy

UCS College Group maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

This statement relates to our actions and activities during the financial year 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Scope and Standards

This policy applies to all persons working for the College Group in any capacity, including employees, agency workers, volunteers, contractors, and third-party representatives.

We are committed to transparency in our business practices and expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and business partners. As part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour.

Supply Chain Risk Management

The College identifies supply chains, outsourced activities, and recruitment practices as principal areas of potential risk. specifically, we have identified the following business areas as carrying material risks of modern slavery occurring:

  • Estates goods/services

  • catering, cleaning, and security services

  • Recruitment agencies

  • Information and technology

  • Workwear and clothing supply.

Due Diligence and Compliance

To ensure compliance, the College undertakes rigorous due diligence when taking on new suppliers and reviewing existing ones. Our process includes:

  • Mapping the supply chain to assess product or geographical risks.

  • Evaluating risks associated with each new supplier.

  • Invoking sanctions against suppliers that fail to improve performance or violate our code of conduct, which may include termination of the business relationship.

Any supplier that does not comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 will be removed from the College’s list of suppliers.

Reporting Concerns

The prevention and detection of modern slavery is the responsibility of everyone working for or under the control of the College. We encourage the reporting of any suspicions of modern slavery at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be reported to line managers or via the College Whistleblowing Policy.

We are committed to ensuring no one suffers detrimental treatment (such as dismissal or disciplinary action) as a result of reporting a suspicion in good faith.

Performance Update
