Engineering and manufacturing support technicians support the work of engineers by the provision of technical support and expertise for areas of the engineering and manufacturing function. This Apprenticeship standard includes computer aided design (CAD), quality control and computerised numerical control (CNC) to prepare you to enter this industry.

Assessment Methods

You will be assessed via course work for the BTEC followed by an End Point Assessment, to achieve your apprenticeship in full. This will include a work-based report, interview and portfolio of evidence.

Progression Options

This standard can lead to roles such as Team leader and supervisor. It will equip you with good transferable skills. The BTEC will enable you to progress on to the Higher national Certificate in Engineering and potentially onto a degree, if you wish to engage in further study at a higher level.

Entry Requirements

You are required to evidence a minimum of a grade 4 GCSE or L2 Functional skills equivalent in English and Maths at enrolment.
