Course Overview

This course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required for the modern workplace. This qualification introduces key business concepts, develops confidence in communication and digital competence, and builds an understanding of how organisations operate. It is ideal for learners preparing for employment, apprenticeships, or progression to Level 3 business study.

This qualification aims to:

Learners are required to complete 30 hours of mandatory work experience as part of the course.

Assessment Methods

The Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Business is assessed through a variety of practical written assessments and engaging tasks designed to reflect real workplace activities. Assessment is continuous throughout the course, allowing learners to build skills and confidence over time.

Progression Options

Following successful completion of the course at Pass grade, and completion of both Maths and English qualifications at grade 4 for GCSE you will have the opportunity to progress to:

  • T Level Business Management & Administration (Level 3)
  • A Level Business
  • Business Administration or Customer Service apprenticeships
  • Entry-level employment in administrative or junior business roles.

Entry Requirements

Learners will need five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range with grade 3 in English and maths, and a keen interest in the topic. Learners who have achieved below grade 4 in English or Maths will continue these subjects as part of their study programme. Entry is subject to a successful interview.
