Course Overview

The Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies is a streamlined beauty therapy qualification aimed at learners with no formal background in beauty therapy training, who wish to gain access to additional study of advanced therapy treatments at Level 4 and above.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in changing careers by entering the rapidly growing aesthetics industry, or for those who work in the industry and wish to formalise their training by gaining a regulated qualification.

This qualification consists of units at Level 2 and 3 combined to provide you with the required underpinning knowledge to afford direct progression onto specific training at Level 4+.

If you aspire to work within the aesthetics industry and would like to ensure you become a safe, competent practitioner using a fast and focused route, this is the course for you.

Topics may include:

  • Maintaining health and safety in the salon
  • Skin analysis and facial skincare
  • Consultation and client care
  • Anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Electrical science.

Please note: you will be required to purchase your own kit and uniform during the enrolment process.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is through a combination of exams, practical assessment, and written assignments to support achievement.

Progression Options

This qualification offers the learner who wishes to progress to higher level training the fastest opportunity to achieve the required skills and knowledge to do so.

The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for additional study at Level 4+ in the beauty aesthetic industry. Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing additional specialist qualifications at Level 4.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, a keen interest in the beauty/aesthetics industry is required as well as a good level of spoken and written English.

You may be required to provide models and clients for some of your practical assessments.

Previous knowledge of anatomy and physiology would be advantageous but is not essential.
